2 Ways To Find The Name of the Song By It’s Lyrics

It happens with me all the time. I’m glued to my idiot box watching VH1 and I hear a song that I like. But a few days later, I just can’t find it. I don’t remember what the name of song was, or who the artist was. All I remember is a few words of the lyrics. I bet this happens to you too..

If yes, there are 2 easy ways to find that song. So, without further ado, let’s dive in.

Method 1: Use Google

If you remember a few words of the lyrics of the song, then you can find the name of the song using Google in most cases. All you have to do is plug those words in double quotation marks in the search engine.

For example, I heard a song and remembered just this one line of it: Finally I can see you crystal clear. To find the song, I would enter this in Google: “Finally I can see you crystal clear”.

So from the first 2 results, I can know that the song is Rolling in the Deep by Adele.

Method 2: ScreenTunes:

ScreenTunes.com is a unique tool that uses movies and TV shows as a platform for discovering new music. On a more basic level it is a simple search engine that allows users to enter the name of a song and research what movies or shows that song has been in.

You can also do the opposite, entering a movie and seeing its soundtrack. With a library of 250,000 movie-song listings, you are almost sure to find what you are looking for. If you’ve ever had a song stuck in your head from a movie, and wanted to know the name, you can find it. If you’ve just seen a movie and thought ‘Wow, that had an awesome soundtrack’, you can find your favorite songs from the movie. You can also make use of a lyrics search if you are unsure of the song’s title.

ScreenTunes takes a core amount of data from the Internet Movie Database (IMDB) and fills it out with extra information gathered from web searches, such as the name of an episode for a TV show or the artist for a specific song. The result is a massive compilation of data from many contributing sources.
