If you are a blogger and run giveaways or contests, you know how difficult it can be to create and manage it. And when it comes to sponsored giveaways, that adds a whole new level of stress to make it better.
A few weeks ago, I entered into a giveaway and noticed that the blog was using Rafflecopter. I immediately decided to give it a whirl.
So let me walk you through setting up a Rafflecopter giveaway and you can decide for yourself if Rafflecopter is right for you.
Of course you’ll need to register at the site first with a valid email address. (I used Password Chameleon to generate the password).
After logging in, setting up a real world giveaway is pretty simple.
First, you must name the giveaway. Then you must add the prizes that are in, and the quantity of the prizes (screenshot above). You can add as many prizes as you want.
Next, you must add the pre-requisites to enter into the giveaway. This can be almost anything; blog post comment, tweet, follow, “like” etc.
The actions here work on point bases. The more points a users get, the more are his/her chances of winning. So you want o assign these points very carefully, and cleverly.
Next up is the date and time of the starting and ending of the giveaway and the Terms and Conditions that you may have.
That’s it. Just hit the big, green button below to get your widget embed code. The widget can be embedded on any HTML site, or any blog CMS like WordPress, Blogger, Tumblr etc.
For a live demo of the widget, I created a fake giveaway, and have embedded it below. Feel free to interact with it and try it. But be noted that you may not win!
Let me know what you think of Rafflecopter in the comments below. Also, if you have any other alternative apps to run contests, leave a comment.
Woot! Thanks for the write-up
No problems. :=)
