2015 seems to be the year of the television, including new technology and some of the best TVs that we’ve ever seen. Here’s a list of the hottest TVs released this year:
LG 65EG9600
The LG 65EG9600 is priced at $8,999 and to be released in April. It is the first OLED TV this year and comes equipped with a 65-inch screen, 4K resolution and curved technology.
Samsung JS9500 series
Is this LCD TV the sequel to Samsung’s OLED from last year? The South Korean giant is calling it SUHD, which means the television has the same kind of premiumness as the Galaxy S phone. However, the ‘S’ in it does not refer to Samsung, says the company. Analysts say the TV is just LCD gussied up with quantum dots, and perhaps it is the best LCD ever. Samsung has priced the 65-inch at $5,999.99 and was released this month.
Sony XBR-75X940C
This enormous 75-inch TV from the Sony has a manufacturer price of $7,999 with a full-array dimming and Triluminous technology and large speakers. The official announcement for availability and pricing has yet to be announced.
LG UF9500 series
This is one of the best mainstream LCD TVs in the market, and the best in the house of LG. It comes with a 25 percent increase in color gamut and improved light output. Released just this month, it comes with a modest price tag of $3,699 but has a smaller screen at 55 inches.
Vizio Reference series
The release date of the Vizio R series has been delayed for the first half of this year, but the TV was introduced at CES 2014. The 120-inch monster is claimed to be the best TV in the world. It comes with 4K resolution, a color gamut with lofty heights of Rc 2020 and a full-array local dimming backlight. Vizio has not yet announced its price.
