We all need an identity, a persona that reflects who we are and what we look like, when we are online. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube etc all give you an option to upload a picture as an avatar. Some of us are just not comfortable to use a real picture – for some of us are shy, or ugly. In that case, the best alternative is to create an avatar, a caricature, and use that instead.
Here is a list of 10 websites that will help you create your own unique avatar, even if you have no designing skills. If you know of any more such websites, share them with the world in the comments below.
1. Yahoo Avatars
Yahoo lets its users create avatars for free with its web app. The avatar is highly customizable; you can choose the location, clothes, skin color, accessories, vehicles and what not. You can then directly export the avatar to your social profiles, or download it.
2. Digibody’s Caricature Maker
Louai Munajim quickly drew caricatures and broke them down into parts. The caricature maker reuses those elements to create new, funny and unique caricatures.

I agree. I love that maker
I think those are so cool. I always have a lot of trouble picking a good avatar, usually I just end up with something plain. But I’ve always wondered how the anime face type avatars were made! Thank you!
I’m glad now you got your answer to the anime manga face question.

Well done you have found some really nice graphics icon designers that is really helpful thanks.
Glad these resources helped you.
Well done Karan, I like the bit about being ugly subtle but often true, great post these links are very useful for anyone doing social media.
Social media, or simply for your own personal profiles, or you could create your own persona online.
Yes, thanks that’s it.
This is such great information. I did not realize that there were so many sites for Avatars. Now we can really find one we feel is personally ours and that we like.
Agree with Oracle on this one. I didn’t even realize there were so many of them but I do remember using Yahoo’s service when I was younger. Glad to see it running even today!
I can definitely agree with this concept, and am thankful there are so many sites that allow it. As someone with a stalker, it’s extremely important not to put my face on anything online. I’m usually happy to put a pleasant image such as a flower, pet, or other picture, but at some point, I might want to use an actual picture or other representation of myself, as long as it can be altered somewhat.
I have read this article before, but have to say that I did not quite get all the information on the first time round. I am really pleased with all the opportunities, especially since I have now had a look at some of these sites. I especially like Faceyourmanga!
